School of Letters student Robie Jackson is performing in a new play by Sewanee’s playwright-in-residence David Roby. “Mercy Me” stars our dear Robie, 2 senior theatre students, and 2 visiting actors. Robie calls the piece “a dark comedy, more dark than comic, about forgiveness.”

If you’re in Sewanee, don’t miss the performances on March 24, 25, & 26 in the Tennessee Williams Center. The last show falls on Tennessee Williams’ birthday. Tickets are free, show is at 7:30.

Here’s some inspiration from Pam Dickson:

My first novel, City of Cats, came in as a semi-finalist in the Faulkner-Wisdom Competition. I wish it had won, of course, but I am happy it made the list and got through a couple of rounds of judging. I had not heard of the contest before seeing Professor Grammer’s post on the Sewanee blog-site! so glad for this and other reasons to be a part of the Sewanee SoL.

Congratulations to Pam for making it that far! How’s writing and submissions going for everyone? I got a rejection yesterday from The Sun. It’s on my fridge now.
