This article on Sam Pickering&#8217;s return to Sewanee appeared today in the Chattanooga Times Free Press and features a priceless quote from Jason Kelley and a photo of the back of my head. Both represent the program well, I think!

<p>Two June items that may be of interest to SOL folks:</p>
<p>Porch/Party Jam @ Pete&#8217;s 1431 Roark&#8217;s Cove Road, Sewanee, TN - Saturday June 19, 2010 is the next porch party / jam, the fourth of the oh-ten season. This time it will be some kind of kielbasa or other link sausage product &amp; some potatoes. Start time is 5ish &amp; if you need something other than sausage or potatoes, bring it. As always, if you are musical, bring it on. A bonfire is planned.</p>
<p>I also have a botanist friend who is planning a hike into the Walls of Jericho area on Sunday 6/27/10 - probably start about 9:30ish</p>

<div>I&#8217;ll be offering two yoga classes on Tuesday evening in the dance studio in the Fowler Center.  The first class will start at 5:15 and will be for experienced yoga practitioners, meaning you can do a sun salutation and know when to take a break and how to modify postures for yourself.  The second class will be from 6:30 to 7:15 and will focus on breathing, relaxing and opening the back, shoulders and hips.  This second class is for anyone.</div>
<div>Pack your yoga mat and any yoga props you have (blocks, strap, blanket&#8230;a good sub. for the blanket is a beach towel, which you can also use at the lake!).  I will have some mats available.</div>
<div>We&#8217;ll start the first Tuesday.  For those of you who are new to Sewanee, these classes are free and I am a certified yoga instructor (and a third year MFA.)</div>
<div>Can&#8217;t wait to see everyone.  Let the countdown begin.</div>
